Abstract
IBM has established a common, open, standards-based architecture to help businesses integrate business systems and critical business processes. This initiative is being driven by ever-increasing business imperatives to gain new customers, increase customer and partner loyalty, reduce costs, and speed time-to-market. Products from across IBM leverage and reinforce this open architecture which is based on a common set of components with well-defined interfaces that customers and business partners can leverage to build high-value business solutions. This session will take a wide-angle perspective on the breadth and richness of the IBM Software portfolio, its unifying architecture, and the role and direction of its key brands including Tivoli, DB2, WebSphere, and Lotus. It will look at the fundamental underpinnings of the IBM Software strategy and also take a look at key trends and issues that are influencing future plans.
