The 5th International Conference on Business Information Systems (BIS
2002) is being organized to provide a forum for the exchange and
dissemination of research in the development, implementation, application
and improvment of computer systems for business purposes. As an important
part of BIS 2002, we plan to include a number of Special Sessions
pertinent to one or more conference tracks:

* Business Intelligence
* Filtering
* e-Business
* Process

Practical sessions on industrial experience or on the validation of
prototype implementations, are also encouraged.

Special session chairs define the focus and structure of each session.
Responsibilities include:

(1) writing the call  for papers and publicizing it,
(2) selecting the organizing and program committees,
(3) deciding the special session program content.

Submission Instructions

Session proposals should be sent via email to the BIS 2002 Special Session
Coordinator, Marcin Paprzycki (marcin@orca.st.usm.edu).

A special session proposal should include the following information:
(1) Session title
(2) Session organizers with full contact information
(3) Brief description of the special session including objectives and
       content (to appear on the BIS 2002 website)
(4) List of expected presentations
(5) List of additional potential authors
(6) Plan for dissemination of Special Session information
(7) Timetable

Important Dates:

September 1st, 2001  Special session proposals are due.
September 15th, 2001 Notification of special session proposal acceptance.
February 15th, 2002  Collection special session papers (after refereeing)
April 24, 2002       Special session presentation during the BIS
                    Conference
